Saral Lake is Located in The Hidden Pearl of Azad Kashmir at the Attitude of 13,600 feet (4,100 m). Crossed the Saral Pass at a meager height of 13600ft and descend into a valley guarded by high passes and in its lap was hidden a lake of unsurpassed beauty, the dream lake (Saral Lake).The lake is accessible from Sharda by a jeep track which leads to Gumut National Park and then hiking trek.
It can be seen from miles because it is deep down and can be seen from Saral Gali, even than it is hidden lake rather UN-explored and unspoiled because only few people went there to touch the beauty of this lake. this lake mesmerize you when you are away from it and when you go near it, you will fall in love with it, it attracts you like magnet attracts iron, its sapphire blue water and white swans of ice floating on its surface made it more adorable, it is every trekker’s dream lake
There are stages to reach Saral Lake
Stage 1: Journey from Muzafferabad to Sharda and Night stay at Sharda.
Stage 2. Journey from Sharda to Gumut National Park Area through jeep and stay.
Stage 3; Journey to Saral Lake through saral Nala by foot travelling and after four hours one can reach to saral and stay.
It is situated 20 kilometers from Rawlakot, at an altitude of 1981 meters. Its scenic beauty and impressive surrounding is compelling and attracts tourists to reach here to enjoy the nature amidst the captivating beauty of Banjosa, the artificial lake reflects the dense forest standing along the surroundings of the resting calm waters of Banjosa Lake. The nearby worth-seeing areas of Banjosa are Jandall, Hussain Kot (the native town of the great freedom fighter Captain Hussnain Khari) and Devi Gali which cannot be simply by passed for a pleasure trip. The distance parting these destinations from Banjosa are 3 kms, 4kms and 12 kms respectively.
These places portray rich inherent natural beauty encompassing all others while awaiting visitors for a comfortable stay. There are of a few private rest houses on the way to Banjosa from Rawlakot also Ghorimar is situated 20 kms from Khaigala awaiting ones arrival to explore the fascinating beauty over-looking the sub-valley of Rawlakot and Bagh.
When to Go
Banjosa weather is quite erratic. Average temperature during the summer varies from 60 °F (16 °C) to 75 °F (24 °C). During the winter snowfall starts during the month of December and lasts through January. The rainy season lasts from April through June.
How to Reach
It's also very convenient and approachable from Rawalpindi/Islamabad. In fact from Rawalpindi (2 - 2.5 hour drive) you have to take the route towards Kahota and from there you have to go to Rawalakot in AJK. Rawalakot is 65 Kms from Rawalpindi and from Rawalakot Banjosa is 20 Kms.
